LEVANTA LOS OJOS AL CIELO / LIFT UP YOUR EYES TO HEAVEN

“Escúchenlo” / “Listen to Him”

Cierra tus ojos,
Respira con calma
Y piensa ahora mismo
En el más hermoso
Recuerdo de amor;
Revívelo ahora,
Dile que vuelva,
Que vuelva a tu vida,
Que vuelva otra vez.

Solo el amor me sana,
Solo el amor me salva.

What Good greet this day to invite us to echo those words of Genesis 15: 5 where God says to Moses: Look at the sky, change the direction of your eyes, and do not be with your eyes fixed on the sadness in the past or in the anguish of what has not yet happened to you.

The Lord especially invites us to look up to see how great the bounty of God is, "Count the stars of heaven if you can." When we looked up to God, we get the benefit of feeling abundance and we begin to see our shortcomings as an endless sky of possibilities; in other words, we begin to feel that with God nothing is impossible, with God we have everything, God alone suffices.

Looking up to heaven means getting in prayer to awaken in us a new awareness of all the good that exists in our lives; to feel that all the good that we have experienced, all the achievements that we have obtained, the moments that we have recovered from tragedies, everything, and everything is God's work.

He has been working in us. Everything good that has happened to us has been the work of God. "I'm the one who brought you out of Egypt and gave you this land as your possession." God himself reveals in the personal encounter of prayer: "I am." Yes, my Lord, you are the author of all goodness that has happened to us.

So in that light act of looking up to heaven, heaven is God, we feel, as expressed in Psalm 27: 1, that "The Lord is my light and my salvation" with God we cannot be afraid, who might fear? This feeling of confidence comes from a personal of love’ encounter with God that reveals true love. Yes, disclose everything secret, it reveals the hidden mystery, fills you with light, and makes you feel loved by God.

Now this experience of prayer, and makes you want to do what God does, in other words, to imitate his goodness, to live like God in love. Formidably expressed in the Letter to the Philippians in 3:17 "be imitators of Christ."

If we talk often with God in prayer, that is, if we raise our eyes to heaven frequently in prayer, almost, without realizing, we finish living like Christ, being its imitators and earnestly desiring to establish ourselves in His light conditions, as expressed in Luke 9: 28-36 "Teacher, it's good to be here with you, let us make three tents." You know why? Because in Jesus our hearts are full of joy, light, and love; our hearts become inflamed, not only because we see him, but also because in prayer we hear the revelation of God to us about Jesus, "This is my beloved Son, listen to Him." The same Father God who reveals himself to us in the personal encounter of prayer says "listen to Him." And this is the key to a personal encounter with Jesus: listen to Jesus. This Lent is a time to exercise ourselves in listening to God.

We can do this exercise in all environments, in all circumstances, at all times and see that the strength of the wisdom begins to settle in each of us and to manifest with a harvest of words and expressions of wisdom. We feel that what we say is echoed in the hearts of those who listen to us, we experience that our words transmit God’s power and wisdom. Our life becomes a permanent revelation of God. Those who see us and treat us, see and feel that God runs through all our senses, through all our body.

Do you want to look at God in prayer and see the immensity of its benefits? When you have a problem of any size, don’t focus on the difficulty, focuses on Jesus, ask yourself how Jesus would face this situation happens to you, think also all good things that have happened to you, the benefits you have received, the blessings that have happened around you, in your family and everything that surrounds you. Are you not feeling that this is absolutely amazing, you do not feel the God’s light and His strength? Do you not feel that these blessings are greater than the painful moment you're living right now?

Song: ONLY LOVE (click to listen to song)
Close now your eyes,
Breathe calmly and profound,
And think at this moment
About the most beautiful remembrance of love;
Revive it right now,
Say come back to me
Come back to my life,
Come back to me again.

Only the love of God heals,
Only the love of God saves.
